BOWLS SECTION

Year on year Heswall Probus continues to enjoy a very active and successful Bowls Section.

Nevertheless, we need to encourage new members to offset those who no longer are able to play.

We play at the Council Green on Poll Hill on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons commencing at 2pm for 2-3 hours.

The Season runs from the 1^st Tuesday of April to the last Thursday of September.

The Section is always well attended, and each year welcomes new members, some ready to bowl for the very first time and appreciative of advice from the more experienced players.

On a sunny afternoon we can have up to 20 members present; making for a busy and sociable afternoon with traditional tea and biscuits.

All this is included in the very reasonable

Annual Subscription.

Through the Season a few Friendly !! Matches are run against another Probus Club and also against Gayton Ladies Bowls Club (who also use Poll Hill green on Mondays and Wednesdays).

There is a Section Tournament for Singles and Doubles during the latter part of the Season.

The Winner of the Singles receives a Cup;and for the Doubles there is a Shield and a Rose Bowl.

The play throughout all Sessions is not all serious but good fun for all.
